company contributes percentage to 401K

The retirement plan requires vesting and is set to pay out based on the very last year there. I was half-time to ease pressure on the department during contract gaps/cuts but had been full time all the other years and now when I retire I will get half the pay every year. I have to restart 5 years full time to get the retirement back to full.
