I know Raytheon offered tuition assistance but I don't know dollar amounts or how much longer you had to stay employed there after graduation before you had to pay it back.

This isn't open to everyone. If someone comes in with a BS, there are programs to get an MS or PHD or MBA with full tuition and even 3/4 salary while in school in exchange for a guarantee of service afterwards for the same # of years. It's a great program. But it's for people chosen by managers in their department. So if your leaders don't believe in you, you won't be paid for.

They claimed they had money for college when I came on board as an engineer, but when I submitted for tuition reimbursement said the department did not have the funds for it, and didn't tell me they were not going to pay for it until after the college's drop period, so I was on the hook for $2000 that I wasn't expecting. I put it on a personal credit card since I thought I would have the balance paid off much quicker than I did. I think tuition assistance is only open to union workers or people in departments with a very high turnover rate.
