Such a shame that a huge healthcare company does not offer insurance to retirees. No matter the circumstance of age and/or length of service COBRA is the only available option to retirees.

It's decent health insurance, and the employee discount on co-pay is really nice. However it doesn't include chiropractic work, which for the price you're paying you think it would.

I currently do not participate in the company's health insurance but it is not very affordable. Although I don't think the company is totally at fault since health insurance is costly. They do offer employee discounts when employees use Sentara facilities for medical treatment.

For a healthcare company I thought the deductible was high and the benefits not that great. I have Blue cross Blue Shield presently and I have several $0 generic prescriptions. Never happened at Sentara.

The health insurance was excellent. Wide variety of doctors to choose from, it was very affordable and the they offered health coaches if you were trying to lose weight, change your diet or if you wanted to stop smoking.
