Even as an hourly worker I was eligible for a 10% target bonus. The formula was clear and consistent. You could calculate it well in advance of it showing up in your account once the business performance factor was announced. The other variable was your own performance rating, so you knew that number, and it seems fair that it depended on both of you doing well. There were years my bonus was WELL above the target 10%.

The performance bonus has always been healthy, however, due to market constraints. Sometimes the performance package can be canceled or postponed without prior knowledge, the performance bonus as it has been voluntary paid by the company but it’s not mandatory
