You have time to do this on your own, but if you are not self motivated....your skills will deteriorate

If you want to put in the time and utilise all the development State Farm has to offer you can learn a lot about insurance and financial planning and risk little.

Independent agent office I work for doesn’t do professional development

Unless you have a Bachelors or Masters degree, you will not have professional development here. You won't even be looked at for job considerations. There are plenty of management who have degrees, but don't have leadership skills, people skills, communication skills, or know anything about the job I'm doing. But because they have a degree, they're advancing in the company.

No time for professional development because you're always on the phones.

No career potential. Non company employee.
