State Farm has an agent aspirant program

There is very little professional development, that really comes from just working and dealing with all kinds of people and situations.

IT Staff have stayed at State Farm for their entire careers even retraining for new areas of work every five years or so. Retention and treatment of staff is generally excellent.

State Farm does a good job here. Professional development courses through places like The Institutes is almost set up like a self service program. You can sign up for most things on your own. Bonuses for completing courses might be better at some other places, but they are not bad at State Farm.

There is great opportunities for professional development; the question is can you get help from management to help you succeed.
