Each T J Maxx employee is offered an employee discount card which they can use during their time of purchase of merchandise. Advantage is that they offer a discount program, but the drawback is that it is code number which needs to be put in when purchasing items, in other words it cannot be scanned. Some employees lacked the training to process employee discount codes.

The discount is 10% everyday but they will have times of a month in which the discount is up to 20%, usually on weekends.

Most would view it as a small discount, 10% but for a more value-based store like TJ Maxx it was helpful. Each quarter there would be a 20% off weekend as well, so if you planned you could save a lot.
