The interview process was pleasant. The interviewer was a senior software engineering manager who asked mostly behavior questions and past experiences. No leetcode or technical questions are involved in the 45 minutes. However, the issue comes after the interview. A recruiter reached out to me to congratulate me as one of their top candidates and asked me if the proposed salary aligns with my expectation. So naturally, I happily accepted, except, it wasn't an offer... The following Monday, I received a rejection email. This is honestly quite a baffling experience as I have turned down other job offers for 1Password, just so I can get rejected. You can imagine how angry I was. At least three other candidates have the exact same experience as I did, and this is unacceptable. So for the recruiters, either make it clear in the email that it is not an official offer, or simply, don't send that first email. This really makes us think 1password is irresponsible and untrustworthy.
