I applied for a position and soon after received a typical email from the recruiter. After speaking with the recruiter, I was emailed a day later to schedule my interview with the hiring manager and another team leader. However, only one person showed up to the interview. It was evident that they were not interested, as the interview ended after just 12 minutes. I followed up two days later, and they gave me a take-home assignment. I completed it within a few hours, but the next day, I received a generic 'thank you' email. I suspected from the start that it might be a waste of time, especially when I noticed they reposted the position on the day of my interview. If a company asks a candidate to complete a take-home assessment, they owe the candidate feedback or a reason if they're not selected. I was overqualified for the role, and having my time wasted like this was disrespectful.
