      Communications Manager Interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AARP in May 2018

      Interview

Applied online and after phone screen with recruiter, invited for on-site interview with hiring manager and select team members. Interviewers came with template of behavioral based questions that they read like a script without personality or context. It was odd. One of the interviewers rarely engaged with me, but rather sat there in judgement of my answers. While everyone I interacted with was professional, I had the sense I didn’t have the DNA they were searching for and it was not a match. I exited the process knowing I didn’t want to work there—it seemed rather stuffy and old school. They were prompt to close the loop and within a week I got my thanks, but no thanks message.
