My experience 100% covered the job description they have posted. I had a phone interview with HR, the questions were general regarding my experience how it is related to the job. I thought the interview went well and I would be in the next round as my experience was 100% covering the job description. After waiting two weeks without any update I reached out to HR to get an update. The answer I got was this "She just got the answer from the hiring manager this morning. The hiring manager doesn't see me as a fit for the role. This is no reflection upon your experience and skill set, just that another individuals fits more closesly at this time. If you see anything that comes up on our job board moving forward please don’t hesitate to reach out." (I kept the typos in here) As they didn't fill the role for months because they kept reposting it and they had some reorganization, the previous hiring manager was gone, I reached out thinking that by putting together a document that showcases my experience against the job description would make a difference. Again my experience 100% covered the job description. As the job description was talking about how they are embracing diversity I included as well that it comes naturally for me as I am coming from multiple minorities (racial and sexual) and from my resume you can see that I was working for an LGBT organization. I even sent a letter to the president. I just got a standard rejection email. While I have no issues that they chose somebody else or if the other person's experience was more aligned with the job description. But seeing the candidate they chose It looks like I was not white and straight enough. Reading other reviews it looks like this was not the first time they mistreated minorities.
