Online application form with several questions (can’t remember them now but likely why do you want to apply for the role and why did you choose Aldi).
One way video interview with around 5 more questions. After passing this, you were then told to visit an Aldi store and take notes on everything you noticed, as preparation for the next stage.
I was then invited to an in-person group assessment centre (both my friends who applied for Aldi at other regions had all of their interview process online, apart from the final interview process). There were 7 other candidates and the interview panel was made up of 3 employees. The amount of candidates was a good number, but we were all applying for the same role which made it more stressful as we were all competing against each other. Additionally, 2 of the interview panel did not seem interested at all in what we were saying and were just typing on their laptops the whole time, so may as well have only been one person there.
We each had to introduce ourselves and then we were given a subject to link our presentation to and we had 3 minutes to do this (seems like ages but it goes so quickly). After this we had a group task where we had to pick the most suitable candidate for a hypothetical company and role, which seemed strange as we’d all applied for marketing and not HR!
After this we had a break whilst the interview panel went out of the room and decided on who was going to be given a final interview on the day (they said we also had a chance to be called back if they wanted to interview any of us further, but I was not). There were 2 interview slots for our group, which is fine, but the group before us had 4 interview slots, so it seemed a bit unfair. When the interview panel came back into the room it was very cutthroat and they practically just said these 2 people are through to the interview everyone else can leave now thanks, so not the best way to end the process. They also did not reimburse travel expenses so in my opinion, it was not worth it and it could have been carried out online like the rest of the Aldi regions do.
