They use an HR service to screen applicants. The HR service is based in the UK and will screen you via a phone interview before presenting your resume to the company. It was an atrocious experience. I had to explain what FinCEN was to the recruiter, and explain US AML regulations. She was really quite belittling and even went as far as to say that she didn't think I'd be qualified and if I was offered a job I would have to have reasonable salary expectations because I wouldn't be worth much. Also, I had to tailor my resume to the format she wanted, which quite frankly I didn't waste time on because I had interest from more reputable companies who actually saw my qualifications. I'm now happily employed as an AML Manager for a big four accounting firm.
