Group interview of around ten or so people, quick twenty minutes of general questions (why do you want to work there, what are your strengths/weaknesses), usually with store or assistant manager. Offer via phone call within a week.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch in Aug 2011
Interview
I got there early, and the only other girl in my "group" interview was about 5 minutes late. I researched ahead of time that I should wear a white shirts and jeans with nice shoes (I wore black flats), no nail polish, and minimal make up with natural hair. The other girl wore flip flops and had long fake nails. The hiring manager totally noticed them. She asked us questions like "What does diversity mean?" "Tell me about a time you had a huge workload and how did you handle it?" "Tell me about your work history/ educational background." I answered first every time until she asked the other girl to start. I could tell she was impressed I could think on my feet. It's impressive if you have at least a little retail experience and talk about school because they like college-aged employees. Basically be outgoing and KNOW WHAT DIVERSITY MEANS! I got the job a week later.
I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch (Glendale, CA)
Interview
I applied online and then I received a call back asking to come in for a group interview. The group interviews were held outside the store. There were about 6 of us in one group. We went around the circle answering questions.
