I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2013
Interview
I was walking around the store with my sister and while she was in the fitting room I was approached by an employee asking how old I was. I told him I was turning 18 in a week and he went and got his manager, who offered me a job working there. She gave me a card that had a website, her name, phone number, and some password on it. I went on the website and applied the standard resume and questions. You can choose your own interview time on it at the end. The application does ask you if you were "recruited" or not. Abercrombie bases their choosing of associates on looks, and they are very blatant about it. They have a Look Policy which pretty much tells you what kind of hair, makeup, shoes, clothes you should have, as you are essentially representing their brand.
The manager took me and another girl (group interviews) to the nearby food court outside the store and asked us questions like what kind of vibe does abercrombie exude, what does diversity mean to us, why do we wanna work there, blah blah. Very easy, easy easy interview. Make the manager laugh and you're all set.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
what is diversity and why is it important in the workplace?
One on one individual interview that encourages you to dress the part for the image of Abercrombie. Group interviews allow you share your thoughts while bouncing off of each others’ input.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch (Santa Barbara, CA)
Interview
A manager sat a group of us down outside the store somewhere within the mall. They asked specific questions about the Abercrombie style and brand. They didn't ask much about the candidates individually. This was many years ago, so I'm sure it's different now.

Interview
Small group interview in the mall round table questions. Easy, don’t copy the other answers that’s it. Hear back pretty quick. Overall great vibe would highly recommend it to college students
