I was contacted by a recruiter to schedule a first interview. The interview took place on a Friday morning and was quite positive—the recruiter shared information about the current team, role expectations, and compensation. I discussed my experience, how it matched the advertised role, and my compensation expectations. The recruiter confirmed that the compensation available for this role aligned with my expectations, and also mentioned that the hiring manager was enthusiastic about my CV. The next steps in the process were also shared with me and I would receive an email on Monday.
However, the following Monday at 10 AM, I received a rejection email stating that I would not proceed to the next round. Surprised by this outcome, I reached out to the recruiter for feedback to understand the decision and to improve for the future, but I have not received a response. I believe that if a company invests time in interviewing a candidate, they owe constructive feedback in return. This lack of communication felt unprofessional, especially from a company like Adyen. Based on this experience, I would not consider applying there again.
