I applied with Affirm and received a request to do a HR phone screen within about a week or two.
I was sent to a website to select a time to interview. There were times up to three weeks away to select (I assume due to the holidays).
I selected my time.
On the day of the phone screen, I confirmed my phone call in the morning. The recruiter confirmed with me shortly there after.
At the time of the call, I waited for 10 minutes and never got a phone call so I emailed the recruiter. After 15 minutes, I received an email back and was told there was a mix up with the scheduling program. Totally fine, technology can be great or suck.
We set up a new time of the next day. The recruiter called 3 minutes after the scheduled time.
It was a great conversation and the recruiter set me up for what looked like a great interview process. (Phone screen, hiring manager call, writing prompt, all day zoom interview with different team members.) They even told me that there maybe a delay due to the holidays.
The next step was a phone call with the hiring manager. I selected the time again and confirmed with the recruiter.
The day of the call, the hiring manager called 6 minutes after the time. They mentioned their phone died.
We had a conversation, and I got the impression that this call was just a courtesy call and/or they already had the candidate they wanted to hire, but the hiring manager still had to talk to me.
I got off the call knowing that was the end of the process.
I received an email the next day saying they had someone else they were going to follow through with.
All in all, it was a standard process. The recruiter was super nice and information. I disappointed that each call was late. I was understandable the first time, but after the third time, I felt disrespected and it turned me away from wanting to apply for another role at Affirm.
