I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Agoda in Aug 2019
Interview
After applying directly through the Agoda website, I was asked to interview with the hiring manager via video call (Bluejeans) a week later. I was extremely impressed as the scheduling was all done through a bot. Despite Agoda setting expectations that this would be competency based, it was not. Essentially it was an opportunity for the hiring manager to talk through the role, understand my experience, and allow me to ask questions. Expectations were then set on the next steps, i.e. if successful, 2 interviews with stakeholders and an online assessment.
The interviews with stakeholders were of the same format but my impression is that the stakeholders were less invested in having these interviews as both were late, the first interviewer appeared to have not looked at my CV before the interview and the other ended up being audio as he was on public transport.
After following up with HR, I was invited to do 4 online tests which were a personality test followed by numerical, verbal and Inductive Reasoning run by SHL Direct.
After following up with HR again, I had a call with HR which was to explain that I had passed the first stages and the next step would be to go to Bangkok for interviews, and there was a discussion about salary expectations. HR confirmed that my application had been sent to the hiring manager for approval.
After 2 more weeks had passed, I received an email that I would not proceed to the next round.
Generally the people I interacted with came across knowledgeable and smart. Overall an OK experience but it was lengthy and HR needed to be chased for updates.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Agoda?
Have you ever been to Bangkok and why do you want to relocate?
They rescheduled once and forgot about the interview. I sent them an email and they scheduled another one. Asked general questions. Should have canceled once they stood me up in the first place.
SHL Test. HR round. Then interviews with product team about my experience & case studies. Had opportunity to speak to senior managers, which was quite good. Gave me good glimpse into their culture.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Agoda (Bangkok) in May 2026

That's kinda weird and absolutely inappropriate questions and tests for Project management position.
There is a test which analyses your... i don't know what exactly. It's a bunch of a programmer, SQL, IQ and math tests which have nothing in common with project management position and time for test solving is incredibly insufficient.
