I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Akamai (Cochin) in Sep 2018
Interview
There were two technical rounds. The first technical interview was focused on concepts of C++ and Networking. In the second round questions related to system design and scaling were asked. The selection process was very competitive.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Akamai (Bengaluru) in Jan 2010
Interview
I was interviewed as a part of a walk-in they conducted. It was for a team that was being set up. The manager was super technically and it assured me that I will have a nice learning time here at Akamai.
My interview was conducted mainly by my then Manager. The stress was particularly on Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOP concepts. Usually they conduct 3 rounds of interview to the other candidates, but after my 2nd interview with my manager, the third round did not happen. And there was an HR interview later.
Usually otherwise, the interview process involves telephonic screening, followed by interviews at the company, if they are satisfied with the telephonic rounds. At the time I gave my interview, Akamai was considered one of the harder companies to get into. Perhaps now the view is different.
