I applied through an employee referral. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Akamai (Bengaluru) in Nov 2015
Interview
The interview process was long. Took over 7 weeks from first HR call till offer rollout. Good experience overall. Most technical questions revolve around basic to intermediate understanding of HTTP and DNS. Apart from telephonic technical rounds, the most important round is the paper presentation round where you will be asked to provide a presentation on a topic of their choice. You will be asked either to come down to the Bangalore office or provide the presentation via WebEx. The presentation round decides if you are in or out. All they are looking for is the candidate's effort to prepare and understanding of the topic provided, which is completely unique and is an introductory to the various technologies Akamai works on. There will be loads of cross questioning on the topics/points included in the presentation which the candidate needs to defend well.
The rounds were as follows: 1- HR call, 2- Manager Round, 3 - Telephonic Technical Round 1, 4 - Telephonic Technical Round 2, 5 - Paper Presentation on a topic related to the technology/team I was positioned for, 6 - Onsite HR round, 7 - Onsite Listening-comprehension test online, 8 - 1st Team Manager Round, 9 - 2nd Team Manager round, 10 - 3rd Team Manager round. (6-10 done in a single day on-site).
Offer rollout after 2 weeks. Akamai provides decent compensation and best allowances and bonuses in the industry.
