      Payroll Analyst Interview

      Apr 18, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Cleveland, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AmTrust (Cleveland, OH)

      Interview

I applied on LinkedIn and a recruiter reached out to me. She was very kind and pleasant to speak to. That led to a phone interview with the payroll manager which lasted about an hour. The manager was easy to speak to and was pleasant. The next step was an in-person interview. I met with the lead of the department and the payroll manager which conducted the phone interview with me. The whole process was pleasant and I did not have any issues with anything that happened during the process. Where I have issues is what happened after that. I was ghosted. I followed up and requested feedback. I was told to sit tight for a few weeks and that I would hear back. I waited three weeks in order to give them space and I didn't hear anything. I followed up again and was told that I would be hearing back. There has been radio silence ever since. I am not one to leave negative feedback, but to bring a prospective employee in from out of town for a third interview and to not have the courtesy to follow up after over 6 months is unprofessional. I noticed that Amtrust is looking to hire a payroll manager, which leads me to believe that the manager I interviewed with is no longer with the company. Still, an email updating me on where I stand with regards to the position is the least they could have done.

As a best practice, our Recruiters use a number of communication methods to keep every candidate as updated as possible throughout the interview process. Our records indicate that a final email communication regarding this role was sent on December 12th informing candidates that, due to changes in business needs, we would not proceed with hiring this position. We are, however, disappointed to hear that you feel you were not thoroughly informed about your status in our hiring process. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
