I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2017
Interview
I applied online for a handful of EA positions at Amazon. Got emailed for the first phone screening with the recruiter about 3 weeks later. The first interview was an hour of non stop questions (be prepared for how overwhelming that is - no time for chit chat). I had to complete an online assessment: multiple choice personality test and an "attention to detail" test, and 2 short essay questions that required more thought as writing samples. 2 weeks later I had a phone interview with an EA. After that, they flew me out to Seattle for in-person interviews with 4 people (about 45 minutes per person). It was from 9 - 12 and very quick with each person - basically question after question. The next day I was invited for 2 more phone interviews once I was back home. About 3 days after that I actually received an offer from a different company so I reached out to Amazon and they extended an offer.
I interviewed with 7 people total.

Screening call, five ‘loop’ interviews & HM chat. Loop based on Amazon leadership principles & STAR interview format. You receive plenty of information on how to prepare for the interviews which are back to back and 1 hour each

Question 1
Tell me about a time something went wrong, what were you doing, how did you deal with it…
Very intense. 2 phone screens and 4 45 minute interviews, known as the loop. The recruiter prepared me with much detail about what to expect. If you prepare, you’ll be fine.
