One word... Grueling! The interview process was the worst I have been on in 20 years. They have you interview with 9 separate one hour sessions. They don't care about your schedule and they have a "take it or leave it" attitude. I complied with their schedule. They have you write an assessment to see how you can articulate a scenario. The interviewers never read the assessment!! The interviewers are reading from a script and they only allow 5 minutes for your questions. While you are talking they are busy trying to capture your responses and you hear lots of typing. They should be asking more direct questions about the candidates background and skills. Their scenarios of "Tell me a time when..." are a joke because most people will make stories up unless you have been in the industry for a long time. I asked one interviewer how he would work with the position I was applying for and he stsated..."Oh I am just practicing how to interview people. I will not be working with you!." ANother interviewer asked technical questions she was not familiar with and read off of a document for the official answer. They all stated that AWS focuses on writing styles. I understand that writing is essential for communication however, what is their Style? I do not know because they never read my assessment.
