I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England) in Jul 2024
Interview
I applied with a referral. I had a phone interview followed by a loop interview. The loop interview consisted of five rounds. The recruiter scheduled a call to give me more information about the loop after I passed the phone screen. The entire process took about a month.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Phone screen: Easy leetcode + LP
Loop:
1) Science depth: Domain related questions
2) Science breadth: Typical Data Science interview questions (probability, stats, hypothesis testing) + some domain related questions
3) Problem solving: Open ended. You're given a problem and you describe an approach to solve it.
4) Coding: Pandas data wrangling + another Leetcode style question
5) Bar raiser: Entirely behavioral (LP)
In addition to the bar raiser round, each round also had about 2 LP questions.
There are three rounds in total. The process begins with a coding round, followed by the main interview loop, where you will meet the team and discuss technical skills, experience, and fit.
First round is fun, second round, which is also the final round involved 5 sessions, with different focus. For some sessions, not be able to present my story completely, time was tight, and interviewers were rushing.
4 rounds:
ML breadth + Depth: Conceptual knowledge about ML and work experience discussion
Problem solving: Leetcode (Medium) + Basic ML concepts
Design + LP round: Use case discussion + Behavioural questions
Bar Raiser - LP round: Behavioural questions - Interviewer was non technical
