I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2012
Interview
Had 2 phone interviews. For the first interview I got some common questions and then a technical question: print all permutations of a string. The interviewer was nice and patient, giving hints along way. The phone conversation ends after 1 hour but I continue to work on that and send him my complete answer later. The second interview consists many technical questions and I did not so good.

Question 1
Coding question. He asked me few coding questions during the phone interview and i was asked to code in a online platform called collabedit. The first few questions were designed based questions where you don't have to code. Just come up with ideas. The last question will be a tough coding question.
Communication was handled via an internal recruiter, who asked for availability and scheduled a phone screen. The phone screen required the use of a computer connected to the internet which was used to open a shared document on CollabEdit.
After some introduction, discussion about the position, and background on previous work experience, technical questions were asked and a solution was to be coded In the CollabEdit document.
