Application
I applied online. I interviewed at American Airlines in Mar 2021
Interview
I applied using their career website. 1 week later got an email to setup initial interview with two people. They told me it would be initial screening but it was basically a technical interview asking lots of questions about ML, optimization and operations research. Then they get back to me after one week for another interview with an OR scientist. I did great in these interviews. After the second they got back to me for an onsite interview. After I emailed my availability they emailed shortly after that they couldn't match my expected salary what I mentioned in my original application. I was disappointed to say the least, you guys should verify my application before you waste several hours of my time. And the pay rate was abysmal compared to their competitors in the same area (diff airlines and OR related jobs). They provide me a salary range which is 2/3 of the standard offers from that area. They prefer PhDs but pay rate was for bachelors.

It was friendly. Asking questions regarding OR concepts and going through my resume and ask about different parts of it and also going through a case study and ask to model it mathematically.
