      Flight Attendant Interview

      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Dec 2024

      Interview

I'm sharing my face to face experience only. I found the interview process enjoyable with only one moderate criticism. When you arrive to the interview building, You check in with the front desk then you wait in a conference room. The recruiters come in and take everyone to another room where there are projector screens. One recruiter talks to us, honestly I have slight interview amnesia as I get anxiety when I interview, so I don't really remember what the recruiter spoke about. I just remember them breaking us up into groups of 6-7. We do a series of activities. First activity I did, they took us into a room where we read a scenario on a piece of paper, then we had to write down in our own words how we would handle that scenario on the piece of paper. The next three series of interviews. Our group sat down with one recruiter, We had to pull from a stack of cards which contained and interview question. We had to keep the card facing downwards so we couldn't look at the question. The recruiter then went down the line and asked us one by one to flip over the card, to read the question and how we would handle that type of scenario. No one had the same question. If it was the same question it was just worded slightly differently. That activity happened in three parts. So three different times we pulled a card and answered questions. After the card pulling activity. We went to a room where we did a reach and jump seat test. After every single group was finished with every activity, we went back into the room with the projector screens. They displayed a presentation on the screens about the company. After that presentation is when they started calling groups to be dismissed. I was in group number two to be dismissed. Mind you when they call these groups, unless they keep you behind, and you do not get a one-on-one interview, you are being rejected by the company. Don't have this idea in your head that you'll get a CJO in an email. All CJOs are offered on the spot. To reiterate, because a lot of candidates remained hopeful that they were going to get CJOs in an email possibly. When you are dismissed and told you'll "hear back", and they send you off to the airport, you are no longer considered for the job. Overall I thought the interview process was interactive and fun. My one moderate criticism. They give us one bathroom break, they don't let us get water until they allow us. I understand they are on a time schedule, but some people like myself, take medication throughout the day and are on a time schedule. I felt that was inconsiderate for them to not let us have a bathroom break or water break until it was time. That was my AA interview experience. Cheers.
