Agency intro call + Agency prep call before the company interview + Direct line Manager from Amgen call. Standard interview, basic questions, fast until this point. Standard Amgen interview call ending by informing what steps may take place next. It took them few weeks from this point to communicate, via agency, that there will not be any next steps.
Having worked in similar global coporations with high standards and perfect interview process and having hired hundreds of employees for my teams at the corporations myself, I would expect that Amgen's hiring process is more optimisied for communicating even negative outcomes. It is always either no go or go to next round, so why is it so difficult to communicate effectivelly even the former option. Based on the whole process and feelings about the Company, also the candidates make their opinion about the potential employers. Ultimatelly, it is the time, effot and KX of the candidates and employees that we invest for the success of the companies and for which we only get small fraction of the overall success :-) so we would like to make the right decissions too.
Last to mention - this was an agency managed hiring, where according to the agency candidate's profile was exactly what Amgen has been looking for and could not find for a long time. Apparently, sometime the opinions can vary, not sure if it was by the lack of knowledge of Amgen from the new agency recruiter or the issue was the country passport of the candidate .
