      Senior Manager Interview

      Interview

Probably one of the worst recruitment experiences I've had in my 15 + years of working. I had a recruiter reach out to me for an interview, we scheduled a time, she emailed me a bunch to reschedule. We eventually spoke where she was completely erratic, reading me the JD word for word, had NO idea what the job was or what the position was going to do or what the team did for the company. Asked me 1-2 basic questions about if I can project manage and if I had healthcare experience, which both are on my resume. She then proceeded to say that she will push me forward to the hiring manager interview which would be scheduled in the next week. I did not hear back at all for multiple days to schedule anything for the next week so I reached out to follow up. No word. A week later, I followed up again, no response. I ended up just giving up and assuming I wasn't going to be moving forward. 4 weeks later I got a AI virtual assistant asking me to schedule a 30 minute interview for the next day only, no other days were available to schedule. I did not have availability for the next day so I reached out to the recruiter, AGAIN, not a single response. Two days later the AI assistant gave me one more additional day a week later to schedule the interview. I finally interviewed with the hiring manager, that was over 3 weeks ago. The hiring manager said "we'd talk soon" and I have yet to get any communications from anyone at Amgen. My application has not been updated in their system and I have again reached out to the recruiter twice about any updates and am getting ghosted. For such a mature company, this has got to be the worst recruitment process I have ever experienced.

      Interview

I went through three rounds of interviews for a Senior Manager role at Amgen. The first two rounds went well, and I was invited for the third round. However, after the final round, I didn’t receive any feedback for over a week. When I followed up, I was told that someone else had already been hired and their background check was in progress. This was surprising and disappointing — if another candidate had already been selected and was undergoing background verification, there was no point in continuing to interview other candidates. It gives the impression of poor coordination or internal politics influencing the process. Candidates invest significant time and effort in preparing for interviews, and the least an organization can do is ensure transparency and timely communication. I hope Amgen improves its hiring process and treats candidates with more respect and clarity in the future.

      Interview

I applied for a Senior Manager position at Amgen and went through three rounds of interviews. The entire interview process was extremely slow, with long gaps between each round and no proactive communication from the recruitment team. Even after completing all three rounds, I did not receive any feedback. When I followed up after a week, I was informed that someone else had already been hired and their background check was in progress — which was surprising, as I had just attended my final round a week earlier. This experience reflects a lack of transparency, coordination, and respect for candidates’ time. Communication before and after interviews was minimal, and there was no clarity or closure provided. I hope Amgen improves its hiring process to be more transparent, timely, and considerate toward candidates.
