      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Oct 24, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Cincinnati, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amica Insurance (Cincinnati, OH) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Applied by submitting resume online. Received invitation to completed video interview via HireVue within a week of applying. Same day was contacted to complete 2 assessment test, took about an hour each to do. Once completed I was again contacted same day to complete a phone interview. Phone interview just asked more about my background explained the position and asked one or two general interview questions. At end of call was invited for a face to face interview for the following week. The overall process seemed to be moving pretty fast. Once I arrived in the office for the face to face interview I immediately was stared down uncomfortably by what I thought was the receptionist. I remained positive and profession as I know some times the receptionist is asked by the hiring managers how they where treated by candidates. She asked me to sign in and wait in lobby as someone will be right with me. Few moments later a "hiring manager" came out greeted me and place me in a room to complete two more assessments test. Both test took about 25 mins total and were over typing and grammar. Once completed, both the "hiring manager" and "receptionist" came in and completed the interview. Asking typical interview questions such as "what do you know about the company?", "why do you want to work here?", "please explain your background.", "tell me about a time when?...". Interview lasted all of 15 mins, even after asking 3-4 questions to the interviewers at the end. They advised they will be reviewing my test scores and one or the other will return, both parties left. 5 mins later "hiring manager" returned and advice I was the start of their interviewees and they will follow up. There is a second interview if asked to proceed with the process either way they will let me know. I asked about a typical time frame they are looking to hire someone and "hiring manager" gave me some long winded non answer "depending on when we start second interviews/ background checks blah blah blah". At this point I knew I was not proceeding in the process as the interview was wrapping up and I was told during my phone interview ( and via email) to expect to be in the face to face interview for 2.5 hours. It had only been 40-45 mins at this point and 25 of that was spent completing tests. I also know a few employees at the company and was told I would be doing a shadow ( which will make sense since I was told to expect to be there for 2.5 hours) but I was never sat with anyone. I definitely felt the "receptionist" did not like me from the moment I walked in. She was far more demanding in her questioning during the interview part. Pretty sure she expressed her feelings to the "hiring manager" when they "went to review my test scores". I would suggest if you really want this position to be aware you will have to go through many hoops for a potential offer. I understand the need to get the right candidate but I had already been through 3 interviews and 4 assessment test at this point and now being told I will have to come in for a fourth interview if they want to move forward. If I am asked back (which i highly doubt) I will turn it down as I feel my time has been extremely wasted. Most (myself included) can not afford to continue to miss work for many interviews. If a company can't figure out if a candidate is right for them after 4 interviews and 4 assessment test I'm not sure I would want to work for them. Also if you really want this position be very prepared to answer " what do you know about Amica?" thoroughly. This question was pushed on me hard and it seemed the 2-3 sentence spill I had prepared wasn't enough.

      Application

I interviewed at Amica Insurance (Columbia, MD) in Nov 2023

      Interview

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to even complete my interview. I logged in for my call and I was greeted by the manager. She didn’t tell me that my application was not found in the system even though I know I applied a few days before the interview and told me that she needed me to go and apply through the external website. She said she would send me a link for me to enjoy my interview a little later as they were ending their interviews until 4 PM. I never got a call back. I never got a link and I even attempted to call the call center to reach out to her. She said she would give me a call in a few. I never got a call back.
