I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Appian (Reston, VA) in Nov 2018
Interview
Applied through school's career portal. First had a phone screen with recruiter with simple questions about my resume, with a focus on the extra-curricular side. Next had a phone interview with a software engineer. Got asked about projects and also had to code on coderpad. Got called to on-site super day. Had two interviews with two different software engineers, both a mix of technical and behavioral. Also had a 5 minute interview with CFO, mostly behavorial.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Technical questions: Given work hours and meeting hours that conflict with work hours, find free time in schedule (A lot of if-else statements), using radix sort to find change, a very simple array iteration.
Behavioral questions: How important is your volunteering to you? Talk to me about something you're really passionate about outside of programming. Do you think your university is being run properly (I think this question is there to gauge if you can disagree with leadership, which they value a lot),
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Appian in Jan 2025
Interview
Skipped the OA because a recruiter reached out. Then had a recruiter phone call, technical (easy/medium), then a superday with technical, behavioral, and executive meeting. Technicals weren't too hard, drilled down quite a bit in behavioral.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Appian (Chennai) in Aug 2024
Interview
3 rounds.
OT - round 1
Technical interview -2
HR interview - 1
They shortlisted the people to attend the test based on CGPA. and after the OT they only shortlisted 12 people for the interview.
Interviewed for the McLean office. Smooth process. HR is very co-operative. Behavior round followed by coding round with one of their engineers. Coding question was easy/medium leetcode (Coding). I believe they have a superday model too.
