Applied Research Associates interview questions

I interviewed with 2 people. The questions were very reasonable. The position was described, as well as future projects. They didn't have any dimwit questions i.e. where you have to overly explain things that they should already know.

I had a phone interview with three of their software development/engineering team. One of them contacted me to set up the call and he let me know in advance who I would be speaking with and how the interview would proceed. We were on the phone for about an hour. They asked about my previous work, why I was looking to leave my academic field (I was a graduating PhD student), there were some general technical questions (about 10%) and then I had the opportunity to ask them any questions I had. After the phone interview I was asked to complete an online coding assessment. Within a week of the phone interview I was scheduled for an on site interview which would include a presentation about my software development projects and some more technical interviews, as well as lunch with some of the team. I had to cancel that on site interview as a change in my situation made it impossible for me to accept the position.
