I had a 2 step interview with DDS and FFS of the company and they were very happy with the interview but at the end they hired someone with more experience. I hoped that they would give me this chance.

I was called a few times by two different people, who I would later find out were to be my new bosses. Spoke to one on the phone for a little bit and he was already making an offer for pay range etc. even though I wasn't in town and available to interview yet. No real phone interview, just confirmation of some things I put on my application. My in-person interview was very informal and strange. At one point it looked like they were going to try to lowball me on pay but I think they could tell I was going to argue against it so they offered me the rate I was looking for. Gave me a very weird first impression of my new bosses, wasn't sure what to expect for the climate to be like at work (which also turns out to be informal).
