Status: Not Selected
Role: Software Test Engineer Intern
Stipend: ₹60,000/month
Interview Process: On-campus
I applied through campus placement for the Software Test Engineer Intern role at Arista Networks. The selection process was structured in three main rounds:
Round 1: Aptitude + Technical MCQ (Networking Focused)
This was the initial shortlisting round.
It consisted of aptitude and basic networking-related questions.
Around 300 students appeared, and only 29 cleared this round.
Round 2: Group Discussion
There were multiple panels, each with 8–10 candidates.
The topic for my group was “The Revolution of AI.”
We were given a sheet with context and had 5 minutes to read it before starting the discussion.
Around 10 candidates cleared the GD round from all panels combined.
Round 3: Technical Interview
The interview panel included two engineers — one present physically and the other joined remotely.
The discussion was mostly focused on Networking, Operating Systems, and Testing concepts.
Since my resume had a strong focus on DSA and coding, they asked me to choose between a coding or testing-focused interview. I opted for coding.
Additional Interview: Coding Round
I had an extra interview focused on Python, conducted by two engineers.
I was asked around 8 questions on core Python. Here are a couple of examples I remember:
Given a class and two objects with identical attributes, how would you make object comparison return True?
Given a file containing random strings, some of which are IPs or domain names (e.g., 14.78.45.221, google.com), how would you check if the server is live or not?
The interviewers were helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and professional.
