I recently interviewed with Asana and, unfortunately, found the experience to be underwhelming. The interview process felt very scripted—each interviewer seemed to be reading questions directly off a screen, leaving little room for organic conversation or follow-up. Despite spending over three hours in one day on calls and preparing a detailed deal analysis presentation, I was not provided any feedback when they decided not to move forward.
One particularly disappointing moment was with a female leader on the emerging enterprise team who opened the call by saying she was “too busy” for the interview. From the outset, it felt like she didn’t want to be there, which made for an uncomfortable and disengaging interaction.
Overall, I’d recommend Asana re-evaluate their interview process to be more candidate-friendly. A more conversational approach, providing time for questions, and offering post-interview feedback would go a long way in creating a better experience. As it stands, I left the process feeling confused, undervalued, and disappointed.
