I applied for a role at Ascension through their online portal. After about 2–3 weeks, a recruiter contacted me and scheduled an interview with a panel of three team members. The interview went smoothly, and I felt optimistic about the opportunity.
However, communication post-interview was disappointing. I didn't hear anything for about six weeks, until I received a text from the recruiter saying I was still being considered and that they would provide an update soon. Another three to four weeks passed with no follow-up.
Eventually, I saw on LinkedIn that someone else had been hired for the same role. After reaching out to that individual to confirm, I learned it was indeed the position I had interviewed for. Only after I followed up with the recruiter again did they confirm the role had been filled.
Overall, the lack of transparency and prolonged silence made the experience frustrating. While the interview itself was positive, the follow-up process was unprofessional and left me with a poor impression of their hiring practices.
