AspenTech Data Scientist interview questions

Applied online, HR reached out on a Saturday night inviting to a 30-min screening call. He was nice, I enjoyed talking to him but we could not agree on compensations (way lower than I expected). Thought that's the end of the story, but he scheduled a call between me and the hiring manager for 30 mins for a more senior position (comp matches with my lower range). It's supposed to be technical, turned out to be not. Hiring manager was 5 minutes late, we briefly went over my resume & relevant experience, and he immediately believed that I was not the ideal candidate. We had some chats and behavioral questions afterwards, but when I asked questions he's not paying attention, even checking his phone. I didn't feel there's any chemistry between us. Received an auto rejection the next day.

I applied for the position online. I then had a phone screen with the hiring manager. He was not very professional and nice at all. He asked me some questions about my resume and some technical questions. He was very fault-finding and had a bad attitude and was very condescending. Although I am open to constructive criticism, I don't appreciate criticism out of mockery. I would have been perfectly ok if he just cut the interview short since I didn't meet his expectations. Instead, our conversation lasted nearly an hour. I've had a lot of interviews in the past few months and this was by far the worst interview. Although I have failed many interviews before, at least the interviewers always were respectful and considerate when I didn't give them the answers they were looking for
