The first interview they had asked was in c++. This threw me off because I was practicing all of my python questions and forgot c++ syntax in the moment. Overall not bad. About varint encoding.
The first interview was a recruiter screening where I was asked very general questions about the projects that I have done. The second interview was a technical deep dive where I was told to present 1-2 projects that I worked on and talk about them for an hour. The 3rd round was the coding challenge, and the question was based on variable integers (not really leetcode at all). The final stage would have been a presentation at their San Francisco Campus, but I unfortunately didn't get to that stage.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Astranis (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
The initial process was quick. Starting from call with recruiter, followed by screening with their engineer where they deep dive into one of your project, Next was technical coding round in C/C++. Last, onsite consist of 1x coding round, 1x system design and 1-1 with hiring manager and cross functional. The most frustrating part was, the feedback time after the interview. They take their own time and won't communicate at all during the waiting period
