I applied through my university and received a HackerRank link after sending my resume. The interviewing stage for interns consists of two rounds: one technical and one values-based, followed by a callback from HR for feedback.
The technical interview was great; the interviewer was nice, relaxed, and provided good feedback. However, the interview question is widely available on some code sandbox websites.
The situation took a downturn during the values interview, starting with an error in the email that misstated the position I was interviewing for (Associate Product Management Intern instead of Software Engineering Intern). When I provided feedback, they said it would make no difference. The interviewer was extremely pushy and made it uncomfortable to converse. It felt like he was interrogating the way I work at my student job by throwing company values. I was rejected for lacking task planning and management skills.
Overall, this was not a pleasant interview experience, especially the values interview, as it seemed they were looking for managerial material, not a student trying to start their career as an software engineer. I would not recommend it.
