This was the WORST candidate experience I have ever had.
Atlassian piqued my interest because I'm familiar with their software and it seemed like they had a great reputation (from what I saw online). I saw a CSM role open up, which is what my background is in, and eagerly submitted my application. I was connected with an internal recruiter within 48 hours (so far so good right...), and had my first phone screen. All went well, I was extremely excited about the role, and I had been asked to move onto the next round with the Hiring Manager. I had my interview with that individual the following week, and again all went well. I was still eager about the opportunity and was told I would be in contact about the next steps by the end of the week.
The end of the week came, and radio silence. Typical, this is something I'm used to. Deadlines for other internal projects come up, so I followed up with the recruiter gently nudging to let her know I was still interested and to see if she knew next steps.
Nothing again, no response, nothing.
Okay... still used to this, but I was very interested in the role I thought I might get a response back, within a few days, letting me know that at the very least, they were going in another direction.
Nothing. I followed up again a few days later but still didn't hear anything back. At this point, I was frustrated because I would have much rather be told I wasn't a good fit than to be completely ignored.
I followed up with the hiring manager, and recruiter again the following week and heard nothing back from either of them. I knew at this point, I was beating a dead horse, but I was determined to have them at least tell me I was no longer in the running for the role.
I reached out a total of 6 times to try and get an answer from someone, anyone at this point, but never received a reply.
4 months later I got a templated e-mail saying the position was no longer available and that they had filled the role. 4 MONTHS LATER.
I am happily employed at my new company now, but wanted to share my story to at least help some people take their blinders off with this organization. Don't be fooled, if this is how they treat their candidates, I can only imagine how they treat employees. I would have had SO much respect for them to get a rejection letter from the start, not a canned template 4 months later after I tried reaching out multiple times.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket for this company, you'll definitely be disappointed.
