I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Met with 5 people across the organization, including the head of HR. Ultimately, I had to chase up to after not hearing back for a number of weeks. While a business has their reasons for choosing candidates, I would have appreciated some courtesy in keeping me informed, given their mantra around employee recruitment and satisfaction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Meeting with Jeff Diana and not having any questions asked of me but rather asked to run the interview through my questions.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2012
Interview
I responded to a posting on Linked In and was contacted a week later via email and asked to respond to several open ended questions about my background and thoughts about HR and given several days to respond.
A few days after I responded and invited in for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and a few others in the department. The office space is nice (quite different than what it looks like on the outside) and the team was friendly and open. The interview was pretty straightforward and casual - nothing difficult and mostly consisted of the same questions asked on the initial email.
I was then told they would follow up in a week or so regardless of the decision. After hearing nothing for ten days, I followed up (even though I assumed they would have maintained contact with me if they were really interested) and was told things were up in the air and they would have more info in a few weeks. I followed up again (by this time I knew I probably didn't have the job but didn't want to drop the ball) and was sent a standard rejection email.
