I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (Ankara) in Jun 2022
Interview
There were three steps in total. First two were technical interviews with engineers from the firm. The questions were mostly related to the backend development knowledge and not so much algorithm and data structures questions. There were only one easy question on a data structure implementation. The last one was with non-technical interview with someone from HR.

Question 1
Java questions like garbage collector, try-catch-finally clause. Advantages of microservices vs. one service. LRU Cache implementation.
Two coding rounds, one system design round, and two behavioral rounds. The process took 1-2 months in total. Once I passed, I was placed on-hold until new head-counts are available, after which I had a couple team match calls.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney) in Sep 2024
Interview
6 rounds over 3 months, positive feedback for all interviews
(1 Karat + 2 Coding + 1 Sys Design + Values/Management)
Was told no hire because first coding interview did not display level of technical expertise, despite passing. Very disheartening result.

Question 1
Code Design: Implement a pricing system for Atlassian products (a-la Jira service)
The interview process was good; the questions asked were truly distinctive. It felt more like a conversation than an interview, and at the same time, the individuals participating in the interview were professionals.
