I went through the full Atlassian interview pipeline over about 1.5 months, including:
-karat Live Coding – I passed two rounds. The interviewer changed the problem twice mid-session to make it harder, but I solved all versions successfully.
-Code Design – Again, the interviewer increased difficulty during the interview, but I passed.
-DSA Round – Two challenging problems, solved both.
-System Design – Passed. Clear, fair, and technical.
-Managerial Interview – Interviewer was an ex-Meta engineer. Unfortunately, this round felt disengaged; the interviewer did not show interest, gave no signals, and asked questions mechanically.
-Values Interview – This was the best part. The interviewer was genuinely kind, thoughtful, and appreciated my examples. Felt human and conversational.
Outcome
After completing all rounds successfully, I received a generic rejection email:
“We have carefully reviewed your application… and have decided not to move forward… Unfortunately, we cannot provide more specific feedback.”
This was surprising because every other signal in the process was positive.
