My worst experience in terms of interview process organization. I've never seen such incompetent HR before.
After I had applied, I received a link for an online programming test. When finished, I received a positive feedback and then all the fun started.
First, I received an e-mail saying that as a part of second round of the interview process, I need to reply to several questions, that were included in the e-mail. Since the questions were apparently not targeted for my position ("What are the most important attributes in being a successful product manager?" or "What was your biggest product mistake?"), I replied by asking whether they were sure about sending me the correct questions.
I didn't receive a reply for a week, so I decided to contact them again and only after that I received an e-mail with apology and that they would like to have a Skype interview as the next step, just with the recruiter for that moment.
Therefore we scheduled an online chat for the same day, but the recruiter made a mistake again and mistakenly put a note in his diary for another day, so I was waiting for the call until very late night (due to the time zone difference) uselessly.
After that, we agreed to have an interview some other time (undefined) and to add each other at Skype. The recruiter never got back to me again, so after a month I contacted him in order to schedule the interview.
We scheduled it for the next day, morning in Sydney, late night again here in Europe. When I noticed the recruiter online, I contacted him immediately at the designed time. He responded by saying "Hi" and not responding anymore.
I wrote him an e-mail that I was waiting for him and got no reply. He responded next day asking "I haven't heard from you", which really made me very angry, especially when we agreed on the date and time and he certainly was aware of me, as he responded with greeting at Skype.
I don't know whether this guy was a liar or just incompetent, but if they have such recruiters, I can't imagine what kind of people these recruiters hire, so I know I would never want to work at such company. Avoid it if you can, HR deals with the company's most valuable assets (its employees) and if it doesn't work, something's terribly wrong.
To wrap it up, I didn't pass the interview, because I wasn't actually able to get to it thanks to incompetency of the HR department of the company.
