I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Axon (Seattle, WA) in May 2018
Interview
Phone Interview, Online Tech Question, Short Onsight, Long Onsight Tech Interview.
Phone-interview is very chill with basic questions about your history, etc. Some very academic, which are from Data Structures 101 and seem to be Google/Apple/Amazon/Microsoft questions aimed at recent college grads. The 2nd part is a timed 'hacking' challenge that you have 90m to pass, similar to CodeWars.com. If you do not complete the test you will not proceed with the interview. The online test is best solved by writing hacky garbage code and not looking up anything from other sites and not pasting any code into your browser, big brother is watching your key-strokes. Have your drawing paper and coffee ready before pressing start. It's one of the first warning signs.
The Seattle office has a very fancy entrance that it likely intending to be cool to millennials that would rather live at the office then return home to the overpriced Seattle housing. Unlike the offices of Valve or other game companies, the entrance has nothing to do with the actual work you are doing and thus feels pretty phony. Possibly, it's just there to impress investors and other clients that think that software development should look like it does in Hollywood.
