I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at BAE Systems USA (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2010
Interview
Contacted by an HR recruiter and interview was setup. I was interviewed by two people the hiring manager and the CTO. Interview was comfortable, however I could tell they were going through the process and toward the end lost interest.

Interview
I had a great interview with the team and was offered a lower position by management than what they had brought me in for. I tried to negotiate and find reasoning for this but they withdrew the original offer all together. I've been doing DSP for 4 years at my current job. Classic Bait and Switch to attract talented individuals and offer them lower positions/salaries. Don't fall into this trap!

Question 1
What qualifies you for this position? What type of work have you done in the past?

Interview
There was about a 20 minute phone interview screen and once i got passed that, they flew me to the location where there was about an hour interview with the manager and program manager. The questions were the basic intro questions (why do you want to work here, what do you like about this position, etc) behavioral ( How have you been innovative, describe a misunderstanding, etc) and then there was the technical section. I would say just know the V model really well.

Question 1
Fortunately for me, neither of the interviewers knew that much about systems engineering so as long as it came out polished i was ok. The hardest question for me is always, "whats your weakness"
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BAE Systems USA (Endicott, NY) in May 2014
Interview
Pretty standard process for most companies today: (1) Application via online form, (2) contacted by HR for phone screen, (3) in-person interview. I never spoke to a hiring manager via the phone, went right from speaking with HR to being brought in for face-to-face. In-person interview was scheduled quickly and to fit my schedule; it consisted of two (2) panel interviews with three people each. First hour long interview was with three (3) senior level engineers and second hour long interview was with three (3) managers. Standard behavior based questions and time for open dialog with both groups. No surprises, easy interview process.
