Four stage interview process:
1: Pre-interview screening process. Probably took 15-20 minutes, mostly focused on if I was OK with the salary range and explaining the interview process.
2. Interview with hiring manager. Short, only 30 minutes. A 1-1 discussion that was just long enough for me to answer some of the common interview questions but not long enough for me to dig into a few of my questions. Hiring manager explained the next step in the interview process briefly.
3. 20-minute panel presentation. About a week after the hiring manager interview, the hiring manager sent out a PowerPoint slide on a ‘fake’ product, asking to create a 20 minute business case presentation for a panel of what would be my peers. Total time to prepare for the interview was probably 12-16 hours, not including the presentation itself. Total time for this interview, including questions at the end, was about 45 minutes. This part was absolutely unnecessary in my view, and a massive waste of time for the applicant.
4. Perfunctory discussion with grandboss for final candidate.
All and all, the whole process took about 3 months. The TA team was quite responsive to emails, but not proactive at keeping applicants in the loop during the interview process. They kept saying “we’ll have a decision next week,” then next week would roll around and when I reached out, they’d say “next week” again. Overall would give this process a 2/10, gives me significant pause to apply for BD positions again.
