I first applied online at my university career services website. I had to upload my resume and also apply on the BKD website. A few days later, I was invited to interview with them on campus. I met with one of their directors and he went over my resume with me and just asked me questions about it. The interview was very conversational and I got to talk about some cool experiences I have had. It lasted around 30 minutes. Around 2 weeks later, I got an email saying they were impressed and would like to invite me to a Day at BKD. They took all the candidates out to dinner the night before and offered to pay for our hotel. The next day, all the candidates met at their office from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. They catered breakfast and we got to meet several of the directors and past interns to see what they did. They also focused on building relationships. After a meet-and-greet and a tour of their office, we individually met with two directors related to our field (tax or audit). These interviews were also conversational in nature. After our 1:1 interviews, associates took us out to lunch and we were able to ask them questions off the record. Once we returned from lunch, a partner came and got each of the candidates for a final exit interview. The partner asked me how my day was, told me about some of the things they are working on in their department, and handed me a check from BDK for my travel expenses even though I only drove 60 miles. Two weeks later, I got a call from their office recruiter offering me a position with one of the director's I had interviewed with. The call was immediately followed by an offer letter emailed to me.
