The process took 4 months. I interviewed at BNSF Railway (Fort Worth, TX) in Jan 2017
Interview
I found the job opening online on LinkedIn. I applied through BNSF's website and took a personality and 100 question assessment. The 100 question assessment consisted of a mix of basic math, graph understanding, and situation questions. A month later, I got an email asking for a phone interview. The phone interview was basic behavior questions. Another month later, I got an invite to their Hiring Event in Fort Worth, TX. At Fort Worth, we were given several presentations from different leaders within the company. Then we divided into the departments we applied for and were given a presentation about our department. There was also a reasoning test we took which was really hard, but I'm not sure if the results of this test actually matter towards the final decision because I swear I failed it. Anyways, they also provided food. The next day in Fort Worth was interviews. I interviewed with 2 people from the mechanical department. A month later I got the offer to intern with BNSF which I accepted.

Had a video interview, then had to pass an assessment, then got invited to a hiring event at the corporate headquarters where an in person interview occurred. All interview questions were behavioral based questions and the in person interview felt very comfortable.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BNSF Railway (Fort Worth, TX) in Apr 2017
Interview
The interview process was 2-steps for me. I applied in late January/early February and had a phone interview in early March. After about a week I heard back for a final interview in Fort-Worth. They flew me out mid-April and it was a full day event meeting people from the department, lunch and then the interview with 3 people. After that I heard back within 2 weeks. This was the process for me, I know they also had a similar process in the fall as well.
