The interview process was a couple hours of different guys talking to me in a very general way about what they do and what I'll be doing. There were almost no technical questions unlike everywhere else I interviewed in NYC, from startups to corporations. This was mostly because nobody who interviewed me had worked before with the technologies (modern web frameworks) they were asking me to use.

In this AI era, they are still looking for candidates to know the exact syntax and are conducting interviews as if it were 2018. There was zero collaboration during the interview — it felt more like a viva. The interviewer joined 15 minutes late, gave no introduction, kept the camera off, and asked me to code decorators for a login system. Even after I explained the approach clearly, he insisted on the exact syntax. An interview often reflects the inner culture of a company.
